BurnerCam Privacy Policy

Effective July 2026

The short version: BurnerCam collects nothing. Everything stays on your device.

What BurnerCam stores

Photos and videos you take with BurnerCam are stored only in the app's private container on your device. They are excluded from iCloud and device backups, encrypted at rest by iOS data protection, and automatically deleted on the schedule you choose. Deleting is permanent — there is no trash, no server copy, and no way for anyone (including us) to recover a deleted item.

What BurnerCam does NOT do

• No accounts, sign-ins, or profiles
• No analytics, telemetry, or crash reporting
• No advertising or third-party SDKs
• No network connections — your photos never leave your device unless you explicitly share or export them
• No access to your existing photo library: BurnerCam uses iOS "add-only" permission, which technically prevents the app from reading your photos

Permissions BurnerCam asks for

• Camera — to take photos and videos. Required for the app to function.
• Microphone — only if you record video, for sound.
• Add to Photo Library (add-only) — only when you tap "Save to Photos" to export a specific item.
• Face ID — optional, to lock the app and/or the Hidden tab. Authentication is handled entirely by iOS; BurnerCam never sees biometric data.
• Notifications — optional, only if you enable expiry reminders. Reminders are generated locally on your device and never include the photo unless you turn on previews.

Apple Watch

The watch app receives a live viewfinder stream from your iPhone over Apple's encrypted device-to-device connection (WatchConnectivity). Frames are transient and are not stored on the watch.

Children

BurnerCam does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children — because it collects no information at all.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
